LET US HAVE A DISCUSSION

discussion

Hello to all my bloggers, peepers, new comers and sometimers. For a while now I have been observing that sometimes when I post on topics which may be considered deep, the response is limited. I don’t know why buy the bloggers by pass the post as in making comments or even asking pertinent questions. I at first was a bit disconcerted by it, and wondered to myself if I was going in too deep with minds which were here with me daily but are not fully yet awake. As usual I pondered this for a time. Within my own musings, I came to the conclusion that I must not watch the responses, I must continue to post as I like and so I did, however again I noticed that when I posted anything on Obeah, or an Obeah story which I may write, or anything related to Obeah (oonuh love de obeah mix up ei si), or if I do a “how to” post such as teaching you how to make a bath, or how to overcome an enemy those posts goes through the roof. Even on my site search the most searched posts are the do it yourself ones (baths) and ones about Obeah which are most often told in story form on embracingspirituality.

BLOGGER KB SHARES HER EXPERIENCE AND A LESSON LEARNED

download (70)

Good day to all my bloggers, peepers, newcomers, and sometimers. Today’s post is from blogger KB who wishes to share a recent spiritual experience which could have turned sour but through the act of divination and sacrifice, she came through. KB asked me if it was possible for her to share her experience with others so that perhaps you all may learn from her own mistakes, which she corrected and also celebrates in her triumph. Often times I am saddened when I see a situation about to happen and I warn a person about it but they do not take heed. I am naturally compassionate and so I realize that most people take for granted spiritual messages given to them, possibly thinking in the back of their mind that this is nonsense. Please read KB’s story and I urge you all to learn from it.

AN IFA SACRIFICE – LET ME TAKE YOU THROUGH THE RITES (with video sacrifice and audio explanation)

The concept of Ifa/Orisha tradition of the Yoruba people of South Western Nigeria, is a complex one. Understanding it especially if all along life’s way, you had never heard of its practice, or have no idea of what it is, understanding it on the level it truly takes to appreciate its wisdom and cosmology will take time for some, often times due to religious indoctrination (all you have ever known is the bible and Christ, or the Koran and Mohammed), the language it takes to explain Ifa, meaning the Yoruba words of the deities and the meaning behind the coded language which is the binary code of life, and also the overall wisdom of Ifa, often recited in parables.

MY STRONG BELIEF IN THE TRADITIONAL PRACTICE OF IFA – ORISHA

My first introduction to Orisha tradition was through a book by Migene Gonzalez – Wippler, an author of many books on the Lucumi religion. I believe the book was called Elegua, it was in paper back and it had the image of a Lucumi made Elegua on the front cover. I did not know him as Esu back then, only Elegua, the cover was red. I have searched the internet for that book but it never came up in any of her catalog, yet I am almost certain that was the name of the book.

In the picture above you will see the oracle which was used, it is called  ikins, of which 16 constitutes as one hand of Ifa, although most Babalawos will give 16 plus four, and the board upon which it sits is called an Opon Ifa Tray. I will do a post where I will explain all which is carved on the tray, and more for all who are interested
